The University of Pisa is committed to building an academic community and society in which respect for gender equality and recognition of differences are considered shared values and practices. In line with Goal 5 of the 2030 Agenda, which states the need to achieve gender equality and self-determination for all women and girls, the Contact Person of the Commission for Social Equity and Gender Equality works in close contact with the Comitato Unico di Garanzia (CUG). They are focused on the development of policies and actions aimed at overcoming gender stereotypes and discrimination in study environments and workplaces. With this aim, the University of Pisa has implemented a series of actions to combat all forms of violence and harassment, including the creation of the Pisa Inter-University Desk against Gender Violence, and has also embarked on a course of recognition of alias careers. The University has also expanded the offer of gender studies courses in various disciplinary fields and is planning to set up a centre for gender studies and to adapt administrative language in inclusive terms.
